Gold and Silver Cake

Gold and Silver Cake

6 eggs
300 g sugar
300 g flour
300 g butter (3 sticks)
2 tablespoons Vanilla Extract
1 cup chopped nuts (fine ground)
1 tablespoon of baking soda

Heat oven to 350 degrees

Separate 6 eggs.

Put egg yolks and sugar together and whisk until smooth

Melt butter (don't burn) (For cake, sweet cream butter is better than salted)

Put in 2 tablespoons Vanilla Extract

Whisk butter into sugar and egg yolk mixture

Beat egg whites with hand mixer until firm

Non stick spray bundt pan then sprinkle with plain bread crumbs or corn flakes.

Put tablespoon of baking soda in egg yolk mixture before flour

Add flour

Fold egg whites into batter

Pour most of batter into pan, saving a bit out.

Mix nuts into remaining batter

Spoon in the nuts-batter into the bundt pan (make little pockets of nuts!) Dig in a bit to mix a little

Bake one hour. Turn cake every once in a while to ensure even baking.)
